Alfredo Barbini is perhaps best known for his aquariums, but this isn’t his only area of expertise. Another signature of his is the addition of collars, which were often used on the necks of Murano glass vases such as this one. To achieve the studded finish, the glassmaker utilised millefiori – an ancient technique where small rods, bevels and canes are fused together. Please note, this item is a truly original vintage piece with slight imperfections and distinctive characteristics that add to its charm and celebrate its unique history.
