Astier de Villatte's take on 'white ceramics' is anything but simple. The rich design story of the Colbert vase begins in Paris, where artisans craft by hand using black terracotta clay sourced from the Paris Basin. A bright-white glaze is then applied, intentionally inconsistent for an imperfect finish.
