The mystery of mycelia takes up a lot of space in David Valner’s mind, and is put to work in the glass studio to form the basis of many a collection – cue: the Fungus series. Drawing inspiration from the shapes, colours and surfaces of fungi, each vase is blown and finished entirely by hand to arrive at its unusual, uncanny and somewhat-eerie character.
