Dimitris Papailias works from his studio in Dalston, Hackney, where he forms sculptural vessels entirely by hand using coarse stoneware. Working closely with the clay, he applies multiple layers of wild slip to encourage organic surfaces—the grogged sort that’s become his signature. Plucked from his Poppy series, this one-of-a-kind vase is raw, beautiful and perfect for housing wild blooms.
